Avionics Extension Course
Description
This course prepares an Airline or MRP Maintenance Technician to perform Avionic inspections, function checks, troubleshoot and rectify defects along with the certification of the aircraft defects.
The 40 Hour Avionic Training Course provides in-depth technical information in all relevant Avionic ATA Chapters, including a detailed description of each Avionic system and its individual Components, Sensing Elements, along with Interfacing and "Valid Signals" with other Aircraft "USER" systems.
Training Objective
This course is designed to train the experience A&P Technician with the knowledge to perform Avionic defect rectification, Inspections, Line Maintenance Transit & Overnight Checks, along with MRO Base Maintenance Tasks.
Course Objectives
- Have an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the aircraft Avionic systems with their operative functions of the Autopilot. , MCP, EFIS, ILS, VOR, ADF, VHF, & HF Communications, Transponder, FDR, CVR, PFD, ND, EICAS, Symbol Gen, Card Files, Wx Radar, IFE, Stby Power, Pilot Static Systems, ADC, & TCAS.
- Be able to locate the above system principal components and access those components.
- Be informed on the Removal & Replacement of the above system principal LRU components along with ESD training.
- Be able to use the onboard test procedures and operational function checks of the above system principal components.
- Be able to interchange components for further in-flight evaluation and also for ground troubleshooting.
- Be able to recognize Normal, non-Normal, Defect and Fault indications provided by Aircraft Instruments, Flight Deck displays, BITE Tests, and Alternate System switching.
- Aircraft troubleshooting with reference to the FIM/FRM, application of the MEL . and the CDL with reference to the release of the aircraft.
